Conaree Victorious
At 9:00, on Saturday evening, Conaree took on a visiting team from St. Maarten in a preseason friendly match. Under the lights at the Village grounds, the two teams played to a scoreless first half. Each had a couple opportunities but failed to tally a goal. It wasn't until the second half that Conaree began to win control of possession. With Bogman running the midfield, it was clear to see that Conaree was dominating play. And at the 55th minute, Daire's goal coming off of a corner kick from Mikey would prove to be the winner. Conaree would continue to put heavy pressure on the visitor's well into the waning minutes of the game. Bomas earned the clean sheet and looked solid, even after playing 90-minutes in an out-of-season match earlier in the evening. Man-of-the-Match went to Ryan, while Libby and Sketch deserve praise for their strong defensive performances. After the match, Coach Dango Farell congratulated the team while stressing that Conaree's future depends on the commitment of senior players attendance of pre-season training sessions. Conaree's next game will be Sunday 10:00 a.m. against another St. Maarten all-star team.
