Conaree has had a busy week and it continues into the weekend with the Nevis-Tournament. On Wednesday, CFC traveled to Cayon for a warm-up against their fellow promoted rivals coming from the first division. Conaree delivered heavy pressure for the first thirty-minutes, however just before half-time, the power blew ending the game pre-maturely. Their week continued with a match against 2004-2005 premiere-league champions Village Superstars on Thursday. Daire opened the scoring for Conaree on a shot from the top of the 18, in the 10th-minute. Village then settled down and began to control most aspects of the game. Just five minutes later Village evened it up with an OG off the Conaree defense. Village would then finish two more before half-time to make the score 3-1.
After a few changes by Coach Dango Farell, CFC took the field in the second-half with a little more composure. Newly signed defender, Sheldon, held the conaree defense together well. Attackers Arell and Daire became dangerous in the air on crosses coming in from the defense. And the mid-fielders calmed down enough to keep decent possesion of the ball.
3-1 in favor of the champions. But Conaree can go into this weekend's tournament with confidence knowing that they can hang with any team in the caribbean.
