Conaree Endorsement Finalized
Minister works to strengethen football team in Conaree
Basseterre, St. Kitts (November 17, 2005): Caribbean Star has renewed its contract to support the Conaree football team, a measure based largely on the efforts of the parliamentary representative for the area.
Hon. Cedric Liburd presented the sponsorship cheque to the team during a brief ceremony at the Cable and Wireless playing grounds at Needsmust earlier this week.

The Conaree squad has been promoted to contest the premier division for the first time in team history. This contribution is expected to go a long way as the team continues to contest first class football.

The team's preparation for the games will also be aided by the acquisition of goal posts. Minister Liburd sought the equipment to better simulate game experience during practice. His goal was achieved by joining with the Minister of State for Sport Hon. Richard Skerritt and the Department of Sport.

Minister Liburd also expressed his desire to have the team move back to its home at the Conaree Playing Field as quickly as possible. The field is currently being renovated by the Stanford Investment Group.

The parliamentary representative revealed that a contract has been signed by Stanford officials signaling the commitment to continue upgrading the facility. He thanked Cable and Wireless for allowing the team use of its ground in the interim and hailed it as an excellent demonstration of community spirit.

Team officials thanked Minister Liburd for his concern and continued assistance.
