Conaree Earns Three Points

Saturday, 11th Feberuary. After two dissapointing losses Caribbean Star Conaree looked to gain some distance from the relegation zone. Standing in their way was a tough S.L. Horsford's St. Pauls team. The two teams drew level at nil in their first meeting. Conaree was forced to play the rematch without midfielder Bogmon due to a previous red-card.
The match began a little sloppy from both sides. Conaree attacks were often shut-down prematurely and easy passes were overlooked for smaller percentage ones. The St. Pauls defense, however, lacked patience and control. One poor clearance in particular led to Conaree's first goal. An interception from the defense, in the 30th minute, led to a well-built up posession on the left flank. A good cross from Beon to Dell made the game 1-0 in favor of Conaree.
C.F.C. showed much more composure in the second-half and kept the ball in the attacking-third much of the match. It didnt take long to earn another goal when Quow found Dell for his second goal of the match. St. Pauls tempers were then lost as a red-card was shown in the 70th for a poorly timed tackle. St. Pauls proved they were not out of the game in the 75th when a quick transition from the midfield led to a breakaway goal by #16. A comeback would prove unattainable five minutes later when Mikey scored the goal of the match, and quite possibly the goal of the season. Erik Van der Sar would have been helpless at this strike from 30 yards, upper-90.
So, Conaree moves to 11 points on the season... 7 points clear of relegation and 2 away from fourth. Their next opponent will be league leaders TDC Newtown United FC on Saturday 18th at 3:30.
GOAL SUMMARY:
  1. Dell 30th (1st)
  2. Dell 55th (2nd)
  3. Mikey 81st (1st)
